Why learn with Fight Sense?

Benefits for everyone…

Gain confidence.

Knowing that you’re being taught techniques that we KNOW work in real situations means you don’t have to worry. This is why we regularly practice what we’re learning through “positional scenarios”, so you can see for yourself that it works. We’re not “in-theory” martial artists, we’re reality-based ones.

Stay Safe.

Our training is focused on your safety, not your ability to fight. We teach you how to avoid fights and how to deescalate situations without even throwing a punch. If you’ve visited a boxing day sale, not all members of the public are reasonable and polite, which is why it's handy for you to have some skills in your back pocket.

Have fun!

Most importantly, it’s super fun! So much so, you’ll probably forget that you’re learning and getting healthy and want to come back just to hang out with us! It’s one of those side-effects that you’ll only really understand once you’ve experienced one of our sessions.

What our students have said…

“They’re great at showing self-defence techniques in a safe setting and reassuring way. After just a couple of sessions, I feel a lot more confident and prepared. It’s such a valuable life skill, I’m so glad I’m being taught!”

Rebecca (Aged 28)

“I trained with Jack for around a year, and now at age 34 and am feeling fitter and more confident… Clear teaching of simple, tested principles meant I was seeing improvements from class one… since starting I've entered a number of BJJ competitions and have medalled in each.”

Steve, Small Business Owner (Aged 34)

Benefits for businesses

Group fitness in the workplace (with a difference)

As increasing evidence shows, workplace wellness makes for a happier workforce. So, why not also make it something empowering and functional, providing your employees with new challenges, both physical and mental.

Team building and knowledge expansion

Get your team members out of their comfort zone! There’s no way they’ll finish a session with us the same as they began (for the better we might add). Not only can they expect to know their team a little better, but they also have some new skills. Confidence and self-assurance aren’t only good on the commute, it’s also great in the office!

Don’t take our word for it…

“…investing in health care programs, companies can increase the employee attendance by 89 percent, along with an increase in productivity.”

In addition to increased confidence in potentially dangerous situations, self-defense students reported more comfortable interactions with strangers, acquaintances, and intimates; more positive feelings about their bodies; increased self-confidence…

…self-defense classes are life-transforming because they address three issues central to women’s lives: fear of sexual assault, self, and gender.
